ZÉ CARLOS GARCIA AT SESC-SP IN GROUP SHOW ABOUT THE LEGACY OF NISE DA SILVEIRA

Following two successful dates at Banco do Brasil Cultural Center (CCBB) in Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte, the acclaimed exhibition “Nise da Silveira: the revolution through affection” is now on display in São Paulo, at Sesc Belenzinho.

The group show – curated by Estúdio M’Baraká, with consultancy from psychiatrist Dr. Vitor Pordeus and museologist Eurípedes Júnior – celebrates and discusses the legacy of the renowned psychiatrist from Alagoas responsible for a profound transformation in the field of mental health. The works have been arranged in three conceptual sectors: context, pain & affection, which deepen the debate about madness and “normality”.

Artist Zé Carlos Garcia participates with two sculptural works: “Duas Cabeças” [Two Heads] and “Prumo” [Plummet], highlighted in the pictures gallery below (Photos: Rogério Von Kruger).
