NEW REPRESENTATION: RANDOLPHO LAMONIER

We are pleased to announce the commercial representation of Brazilian artist Randolpho Lamonier.

Born in Minas Gerais and based in São Paulo, Lamonier graduated from the Fine Arts School at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). His works span diverse mediums, including textile art, painting, video, and installation, and embody a fusion of formal diversity and thematic depth. Seamlessly melding images from vernacular culture with avant-garde techniques, he explores a dialogue that navigates the intricacies of micro and macro politics, weaving together narratives of chronicles, diaries, and the interplay between memory and fiction.

In recent years, the artist has taken part in important group exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, including: Arte Subdesenvolvida, curated by Moacir dos Anjos, Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil – CCBB, São Paulo, Brazil (2024); Who tells a tale adds a tail, curated by Raphael Fonseca, Denver Art Museum, Denver, USA (2022); Histórias Brasileiras – section “Retomadas“, curated by Clarissa Diniz and Sandra Benites, MASP – Museu de Arte de São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil (2022); 15th Lyon Biennale: Jeune Création Internationale, Institut d’Art Contemporain, Villeurbanne, France (2019); 36th Panorama of Brazilian Art, curated by Júlia Rebouças, MAM – Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo, Brazil (2019); What I really want to tell you…, curated by Jennifer Inacio and Flavia Macuco Pecego, Fundación Pablo Atchugarry, Miami, USA (2019); Arte Democracia Utopia – Quem não luta tá morto, curated by Moacir dos Anjos, Museu de Arte do Rio – MAR, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2018); MITOMOTIM, curated by Júlia Rebouças, Galpão Videobrasil, São Paulo, Brazil (2018), among others.

Lamonier has won numerous awards and research grants, most notably the “Pipa Award” (2020) and the “Incentive Award – Naïfs of Brazil Biennial – Sesc SP (2016).

His works are part of important national and international collections, including: Denver Art Museum, USA; MASP – Museu de Arte de São Paulo, Brazil; and Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, Brazil.
