Bringing together represented and guest artists, Portas Vilaseca Galeria presents three conceptual axes at ArtRio 2024: formal abstraction, material experimentation, and narrative figurativism.
The first axis features artists like Marcone Moreira and Mano Penalva, who use everyday elements to explore reflections on color and composition. The second group, which includes Randolpho Lamonier and Iah Bahia, focuses on a diverse range of material practices, emphasizing the relationship between form and content through the physical properties of various materials. Lastly, the third axis showcases the works of Mulambö and Romildo Rocha, who engage with figuration as a means to narrate episodes of daily life.
