Represented by Portas Vilaseca Galeria, artist Ayrson Heráclito is one of the highlights of the second volume of “Brazilian Interviews“, a publication that follows a series of conversations with artists, anthropologists, musicians and other thinkers Brazilians led by Swiss curator Hans Ulrich Obrist.
The book, published by Editora Cobogó, brings another 30 interviews that deal with multiple topics, from central subjects related to the construction of an artistic terminology to debates around urgent issues, such as the formation of a decolonial circuit of art, a subjectivity awareness, as well as the importance of indigenous expressions and the incorporation of non-binary thoughts in the cultural system of a society.
In his conversation with Ulrich (done virtually in August 2020), Heráclito shares his trajectory as an artist, and also as a teacher and visual arts curator, considering some of the main projects in which he participated in recent years. In addition, he reflects on his research and artistic practice with a focus on the Afro-Atlantic diaspora and the relationship he has built with the sacred.
“Brazilian Interviews vol.2” is on sale in the best bookstores across the country.
