Ongoing at Carpintaria (Rua Jardim Botânico, 971), the group show “Escrito no Corpo” proposes a dialogue between the work of young and established artists with the collection of Abdias Nascimento’s Teatro Experimental do Negro. Curated by Keyna Eleison and Victor Gorgulho, the idea is to reflect on the narrative dimension of the body through different approaches. The works presented in the space share the notion of self-writing made possible by the performative act and its multiple forms of documentation.
One of the highlights of the exhibition is the work “História do Futuro – Corpo e Sal: o capítulo da hidromancia” (2015), by our represented artist Ayrson Heráclito. It emerges from a series of works developed in Senegal that bring different natural elements – water, air and earth – and the artist’s desire to share a future with open paths, time for reflection and hope for change.
Completing the team of the participating artists: Ana Beatriz Almeida, Efrain Almeida, Armando Andrade Tudela, Castiel Vitorino Brasileiro, Rodrigo Cass, Panmela Castro, Melissa de Oliveira, Herbert De Paz, Diambe, Hélio Eichbauer, Moisés Patrício, Iagor Peres, Agrippina R.
