Artist Ayrson Heráclito is participating in the exhibition “Fullgás,” which opened this week at the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center in Rio de Janeiro. Curated by Raphael Fonseca, with co-curators Amanda Tavares and Tálisson Melo, the exhibition takes up all eight rooms on the second floor of the space, as well as the central atrium. It is split into five conceptual sections, each named after iconic 1980s pop songs.
Heráclito presents his 1986 work, “The Death of God,” in the “Pássaros na garganta” section, which focuses on ecological themes and the tragic consequences of capitalism.
“Fullgás”, like Marina Lima‘s song, aims to connect the public with a generation that poured much of its existential energy not only into creating art but also into shaping new projects for the country and citizenship. “A generation that, over time, moved from intensity to a deeper awareness of life’s transience,” explain the curators.
The exhibition runs until January 2025. Don’t miss it!
