Portas Vilaseca is pleased to present “To wander through the days not reading the time”’ – artist Carolina Martinez‘s new solo show, curated by Daniela Labra. The exhibition takes up two floors of the gallery space and brings together around 30 new works, including paintings on wood, works in cement and ceramics, and adobe bricks.
The opening event takes place this following Thursday (16th), starting at 7 pm. The exhibition runs until 6th July and visiting times are from Tuesdays to Fridays (11 am – 7 pm) and on Saturdays (11 am – 5 pm). Admission is free.
“To wander through the days not reading the time” marks 15 years in the career of Martinez, whose work focuses the viewer’s gaze on empty and apparently uninhabited spaces, offering poetic drifts through different media and a palette of solid and contrasting colors.
In this new solo show that carries a poem in its title, the artist, who holds a BA in Architecture and studied painting, invites us to slow down through a silent pathway of subtleties turned into abstract shapes.
