The acclaimed exhibition “Carolina Maria de Jesus, a Brazil for the Brazilians” opens at Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR), following a remarkable season at Moreira Salles Institute (IMS), in São Paulo, and a tour throughout the Sesc units in the state. Featured in the album are works by artists Silvana Mendes, Ayrson Heráclito and Mulambö that are part of the exhibition in honor of the Minas Gerais-born writer and multi-artist – a symbol of resistance and political and cultural struggle for the country.
Curators Hélio Menezes and Raquel Barreto propose a dense and affectionate dialogue between Carolina’s life and work with Brazilian visual artistic productions from the 50s to the present day.
In partnership with IMS, the exhibition is on display until November, 26th.
