Currently on view on the ArtNexus website, the virtual exhibition “Decategorized – Artists from Brazil” presents itself as a response to the hegemonizing attitude that impels predetermined categories to link a concrete artistic production to movements or trends. The show seeks to release the production of 21 Brazilian artists of different generations, seeing it from the perspective of individuality. The works on display contemplate innovative conceptual paths and the multiple possibilities of using traditional and non-traditional media. They also signal a break in the boundaries between art, architecture, music, dance and popular culture.
One of the highlights of the show is our represented artist Felipe Seixas, who presents a small overview of his most recent production. The selected works reveal the contrast and friction between the material and the immaterial; the palpable and the untouchable; the physical and the virtual.
Promoted by Fundación ArtNexus and curated by Francine Birbragher-Rozencwaig and Celia Sredni de Birbragher, “Decategorized – Artists from Brasil” continues until 27 February 2021 on the ArtNexus website. To visit the show, click here.
