Gustavo Nazareno‘s first book – “Bará” – will be launched this Thursday at Megafauna Bookshop, located on the ground floor of the Copan building, in the city centre of São Paulo. The publication emerges from the artist’s series of the same name, which comprises 400 charcoal drawings that were conceived as a ceremony in honor of the orixá Exu, in his ability as the “lord of the body”.
A release of Act. Publisher, with the support of Portas Vilaseca Galeria, “Bará” – the book – brings together around 120 works from the series and texts by curators Danny Dunson and Deri Andrade; the latter takes part in a talk with Nazareno during the launch event, which starts at 7pm. Free admission.
The book also features photographs by Anna Carolina Bueno, graphic design by Felipe Chodin and editing by Marina Dias Teixeira and Yasmin Abdalla.
