Tomorrow, Thursday, São Paulo’s Itaú Cultural opens the exhibition “Um século de agora” [ One century of now ], which presents a current overview of the art and culture produced in Brazil this year through multiple languages – collage, drawing, sculpture, photography, installation, performance, painting and video art.
Curated by three women – Júlia Rebouças, Luciara Ribeiro and Naine Terena – the exhibition features the participation of 25 artists and collectives from different geographic and social contexts.
Rio de Janeiro born and based artist Julia Debasse presents her work “How the night arose” (highlighted above), an altarpiece on wood that portrays a Guarani myth.
Besides celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Modern Art Week, the exhibition also proposes to expand horizons and bring new narratives to this century.
Don’t miss it! On display until April 2023.
