Artists Nádia Taquary and Ayrson Heráclito are taking part in the group show “Red Atlantic“, which brings together more than 60 works by 22 Black artists at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva (Switzerland).
Curated by Marcelo Campos, the exhibition – organised by the Luiz Gama Institute, the NGO Paramar and the Guimarães Rosa Institute – is part of the programme of the UN Permanent Forum on People of African Descent, considered the most important UN event on racial issues
The album highlights the works “Oxum Apará – Dinkas Orixás series“, by Taquary; and “History of the Future – Body and Salt: the hydromancy chapter“, by Heráclito, on show in the UN’s Swiss space until 26 April.
Curator Marcelo Campos comments: “The Red Atlantic is an important project because it seeks to bring up-to-date and contemporary reflections on the process of the African Diaspora, as well as bringing the very understanding of struggle, of survival, in a way, of historical reparation, regarding the Afro-Brazilian population.”
