Open call for Brazilian artists (or those living in Brazil) to participate in the “Fluid Boundaries: The Interaction between Water, Art, Science and Indigenous Knowledge Systems” Residency Programme, which will take place simultaneously in South Africa, Brazil and Switzerland between March and May 2025.
Focussing on the role of water from a transdisciplinary angle, the residencies seek to deepen understanding of the ecological crisis, the relationship between human and non-human life, the political and social legacy and the aesthetic potential of this primordial element in its many forms and conditions.
Supported by the Swiss Arts Council Prohelvetia, Fluid Boundaries is a transdisciplinary collaborative project that brings together a group of institutional partners – including Portas Vilaseca Galeria – alongside agents of culture, science and indigenous ancestral knowledge.
