“Decentralized Autonomous Acerola” [1st ed.], a work by our represented artist Pedro Victor Brandão, is on view at “Notas sobre alguma disfuncionalidade”, a curatorial proposition by Guilherme Teixeira for the platform HomeostasisLab.
The work exists as an animated GIF minted in an edition of 100 non-fungible tokens that can be claimed through a form during the exhibition. Also participating in the exhibition are Simon Fernandes, Ilê Sartuzi, Ana Matheus Abbade, Juno, and Lucas Navarro.
“Decentralized Autonomous Acerola [1st ed.] is part of the Acerola Fund, created by the artist in January 2021 as a distributed governance and indirect coordination experiment focused on the acquisition of NFT’s created by artists from the Global South.
About the project
Comprising four works – a video, a text and a negotiation of a work in NFT (non-fungible token) – Notes on some dysfunctionality uses the digital medium to bring questions about artistic making: What are the levels of frustration in the artistic experience? What responsibility do the agents involved in this process have to authorize this? Is it possible to think of a space where illegibility is constitutive?
Based on these questions, the writer, editor and independent curator Guilherme Teixeira presents six artists – Ana Matheus Abbade (São Gonçalo / Brazil), Ilê Sartuzi (Santos / Brazil), Juno (Ceará / Brazil), Lara Teixeira (São Paulo / Brazil) , Lucas Navarro (Rio de Janeiro / Brazil), Pedro Victor Brandão (Rio de Janeiro / Brazil) and Simon Fernandes (Ceará / Brazil) – who analyze dysfunctionality procedures and their relations with contemporary artistic thought within their conceptualizations.
