We are very happy to announce the commercial representation of Brazilian artist Kika Carvalho.
Born in the city of Vitória (Espírito Santo state) in 1992, Kika started as a graffiti artist, being one the first women to paint walls in Vitória and responsible for the development of a local scene, with works that can also be found nowadays in different cities across Brazil. Currently, her practice in painting emerges in different supports, techniques and scales, addressing a rigorous study around the color blue, an important element in search for a counter-narrative. Her investigations focus on issues related to the social place she occupies as a bisexual black woman living in a region with high levels of violence against women, the black youth and LGBTQ+ population.

Welcome to Portas Vilaseca Galeria, Kika!
