Opening this Saturday (4 September), “Grande Circo Floresta” (Great Forest Circus) is the first solo show of our represented artist Zé Carlos Garcia in the gallery, displaying a new series of sculptural objects made of wood and mixed in various aspects.
Curated by Cláudio Oliveira, the exhibition is the result of more than two years of work and represents a dive that the artist made into himself, in his history and in our reality, bringing to light all the ambiguity of Brazilian culture. In his artistic path, Garcia would be located between the works of master Galdino and certain works by Tunga, passing through the Rio Carnival, Tom Zé’s musical work and the iconographic work of Bosch.
“Grande Circo Floresta” runs until 30 October, and visits are from Tuesdays to Fridays (11 am – 7 pm) and Saturdays (11 am – 5 pm).
Respecting all WHO protocols, we are pleased to welcome you all for the opening this Saturday from 12 to 6 pm. We are located at R. Dona Mariana, 137 – house 2 – Botafogo. Come along!
