Fundación Paiz has announced the preliminary list of artists participating in the 24th Paiz Art Biennial, titled The Tree of the World, curated by Eugenio Viola. Among the selected names is Guatemalan artist Antonio Pichillá, represented by Portas Vilaseca.
The exhibition will take place from November 6, 2025, to February 16, 2026, across various venues in Guatemala City, and will feature contemporary works and newly commissioned projects created especially for this edition. Artists from different generations, genders, and sexual orientations—hailing from the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania—will take part.
With a focus on fostering empathy and dialogue across cultures, languages, religions, and historical perspectives, the biennial aims to spark critical reflection through the relationship between art, history, and the physical contexts of its exhibition spaces. Recognized as one of Central America’s most important artistic platforms, the Paiz Art Biennial reaffirms its role as a space for encounter and critical thought on the challenges of a globalized society.
