Artist Nádia Taquary is one of the highlights of the group show Musafiri: Of Travellers and Guests, on view at Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin, Germany, until 16 June.
Curated by Cosmin Costinas, the exhibition explores the deep cultural resonances of the Arabic word musafir, which means both ‘traveller’ and, in some contexts, ‘guest’. Bringing together a diverse group of international artists, the show traces histories of migration, displacement, and global interconnectedness while challenging dominant narratives on belonging and hospitality.
Taquary presents six works, including sculptures and sculptural objects from the series Dinkas Orixás and É o que não se vê, as well as the video installation Abre caminhos. (see gallery below)
