WELCOME, GUERREIRO DO DIVINO DO AMOR!
BEM-VINDO, GUERREIRO DO DIVINO AMOR!
12.04.2025

We are pleased to announce the commercial representation of the Swiss-Brazilian artist Guerreiro do Divino Amor.

The artist holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Grenoble and from La Cambre in Brussels. His practice unfolds across multimedia installations, films and publications. By intersecting the fields of architecture, science fiction and documentary, his projects address the symbolic constructions of territory and power through simulacra of existing social institutions, creating shifts and satirical commentaries on collective imagination and national identities. Combining irony and social critique with a baroque aesthetic, Guerreiro transforms institutional, architectural and media discourses into “superfictional” universes that destabilise hegemonic narratives and question notions of “reality” and “historical truth”, engaging with perspectives on post-colonialism and globalisation.

Since 2005, the artist has been developing the saga “World Superfictional Atlas”, a vast project that maps the symbolic formations of nations, religions, media and systems of power. In 2024, he was invited by Pro Helvetia to represent Switzerland at the Venice Biennale with the solo project “Super Superior Civilizations”. He was awarded the Bolsa Pampulha in 2019, the same year he won the Pipa Prize. His work has featured in both solo and group exhibitions in countries such as the United States, South Korea, Italy, Switzerland, Thailand and Brazil, among others.

His work is held in the collections of major institutions, including the Aargauer Kunsthaus Collection (Switzerland); FCAC Geneva, Cantonal Fund for Contemporary Art (Switzerland); MAR – Museum of Art of Rio de Janeiro (RJ, Brazil); Museum of Brazilian Art at FAAP, São Paulo (SP, Brazil); Pipa Institute (Brazil), among others. His videos are also part of the Videoarte Alfredo Hertzog collection.

Welcome to Portas Vilaseca, Guerreiro!
